On Stability and Convergence of Distributed Filters

Recent years have bore witness to the proliferation of distributed filtering techniques, where a collection agents communicating over an ad-hoc network aim collaboratively estimate and track state system. These techniques form enabling technology modern multi-agent systems gained great importance in engineering community. Although most come with set stability convergence criteria, conditions imposed are found be unnecessarily restrictive. The paradigm is revised this manuscript. Accordingly, general filter constructed its estimation error dynamics formulated. conducted analysis demonstrates that for achieving stable operations same as those required centralized setting. Finally, concepts demonstrated Kalman framework validated using simulation examples.
